As children we all hear the fairy tales our parents pass on. We hear the stories of Humpty Dumpty, Dorthy and the Dorthy and her Yellow Brick Road and of course Lewis Carroll’s Through the Looking-Glass. And as a child we love the stories, but we don’t know what awaits us adults. We face many challenges and obstacles, we learn that life is not all Talking Rabbits, Yellow Brick Roads, and Kings who have men to put it all back together again.
Much of our life is spent working towards a goal to leave a legacy behind, to leave our descendants wealth, or to leave our mark on this world. What we leave behind can be either a beautiful work of art or a scar marking our path. Is this quest to leave our mark as important as how we make the mark? Is it important that we walk a life that bring forth only beauty or is it realistic that the life we live will be filled with joy and woe? Perhaps what is important is how we handle the joys and the woes which make up our life, how we share those joys and woes with others or how we influence the joys and woes in the life of others.
Over the last five months my life has had to under go lots of changes and many more are to come. How I’ve influenced the joys and woes of others needed to be addressed and will continue to be a priority in my life.
When the mark we leave is uncontrolled it is time to look back and then forward. Going forward trying to find a path that will not leave scars and a path of destruction.
The audio portion of the AmishPhoneBook will be back in a few weeks or so. Thanks again. Have a Great Day and make sure not to tell the Bishop.
